The Cultural Institution Blesok will launch the
“Verdict” [orig. Presuda] poem by Xhabir Deralla on March 25, at the MKC Club,
beginning 21 h. On this occasion, Xhabir Deralla, the author of the poem, and
Miroslav Stojanovic, the author of the cover and the illustrations inside the
book, will hold a stage performance. They will perform with a part of their
multimedia project called Cryptochromatic.
“Verdict” is the last publishing project of the poet,
writer and founder of the Cultural Institution Blesok, Igor Isakovski, who
passed away just before the scheduled launch of this book in December. This
launch is an event in his honor and a message that his work will continue
through Blesok in which the author Isakovski has put enormous efforts and
creativity.
“Verdict” is a poetry work of Xhabir Deralla,
published by Blesok, as the 35th title within the edition of
“Borea”. It is a poem which the author Deralla was writing for two years
(1991-1992), finalized in 2014. The poem is published in a book of 80 pages,
illustrated with drawings and pictures by the multimedia artist Miroslav
Stojanovic.
Whilst the Cryptochromatic project still remains a
secret, a part of it will be revealed to the Skopje audience on March 25 in the
MKC Club. At the event, part of the project will be merged with the multimedia
project of the tandem Deralla – Stojanovic.
“Verdict of
Xhabir Deralla is a powerful poem that reaches the issue of the quest for
identity within the individuals, the clash of the individual with the world
around, and all that situated in a pre-mythological era in which the
protagonists are sacrificing themselves for the sake of the fake goodness of
the collective. Bitterly, but this situation we witness today, in ours and in
many other societies” – wrote Igor Isakovski, the head of the Cultural
Institution Blesok in December, 2014.
Prof. Dr. Katarina Kolozova wrote: “Verdict is probably the most drama and
most philosophical poem in Macedonian language I have ever read. Deep erudition
in the field of tragic structure of text and metrics is reflected in the almost
metric verse of Deralla. After the translations of Mihail Petrushevski, the
Macedonian language never sounded so exciting as the lyrics of the Verdict.”
The author is a human rights activist, atheist,
multimedia artist, writer, poet, columnist, screenplay writer, publisher, and
producer. He is one of the founders of Civil, organization for human rights and
freedoms.
